Dr. Mohamed Janashal is Founding Partner of the firm. He holds PhD in arbitration law with a cross disciplinary research in Islamic Banking and Finance related disputes from prestigious International Islamic University, Malaysia. Before his PhD, he obtained his Master degree in International Commercial Law from Alexandria, Egypt. He earned his LLB from Mohamed-I University, Oujda, Morocco.

As a qualified lawyer in the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Mohamed enjoys right of audience before all levels of courts, including the Supreme Court of the Sultanate. On account of his wide experience in the dispute resolution, he is also a recognized arbitrator. With more than two decades of law practice, he has a wealth of legal experience that leads the firm’s overall practice. The firm prides itself with his experience in litigation, arbitration, corporate, commercial, Islamic Banking and Finance, mergers, capital markets, regulation, employment, contracts and transactional matters. A long list of corporate and high net-worth individual clients summarizes his credibility and reputation as a seasoned lawyer in the Sultanate.

As part of his legal practice, Dr. Mohamed has acted as arbitrator in addition to his representing clients in commercial arbitration matters ranging from construction to cross border trade. He acts as lead counsel in arbitration matters inside the Sultanate and outside as well. Currently he is leading firm’s representation in the ongoing construction, contractual and contractor’s liability claims in local and international arbitration claims where the firm has been engaged by notable public and private entities.

Dr. Mohamed has keen interest in legal training and academics, and has written in law journals. He is passionate about legal writing and research with special focus on his core areas of practice. His fluency in Arabic and English, and working knowledge of French gives him privileged access in this regard.

Dr. Abdul Hanan is an experienced lawyer, practicing arbitrator and legal trainer with accumulated experience of 20 years. He graduated his first doctorate from International Islamic University, Malaysia where his research was on Arbitration in Islamic Finance and Banking. He is currently conducting his second Ph. D research on ADR in FIDIC Contracts with a special reference to Gulf countries.

As a lawyer, Dr. Abdul Hanan has practiced in Syria where is registered the Syrian Bar. Main areas of his practice are arbitration, corporate, commercial, Islamic banking and finance, contract, employment and litigation matters. Later he developed considerable expertise as arbitrator and is currently a registered arbitrator with the International Islamic Centre for Reconciliation and Arbitration, Dubai. He is also a recognized arbitrator in Syria registered with Al Adalah Arbitration Centre, Syrian Arbitration Centre and Aleppo Arbitration Centre in Syria.

As part of legal research and writing, Dr. Abdul Hanan has written a book and various research articles on legal and Islamic Finance issues.

Muhammad earned his LL.M in Corporate Law from of Faculty of Shariah and Law, International Islamic University, Islamabad. His core areas of practice are corporate, commercial, transactional, arbitration, contracts and employment matters.

Muhammad was part of the legal team representing the largest public sector entity in Pakistan in ICC arbitration held in Singapore under the auspices of International Court of Arbitration. Later, Muhammad moved to Dubai where as Legal Counsel he developed his practice focused on commercial, arbitration, contracts and employment. He represented several clients in arbitration claims arising out of real estate and construction related disputes under the Dubai International Arbitration Center. He has assisted his clients on arbitration matters in DIFC and ADCCAC. He regularly advises his clients on a range of diverse legal matters within the scope of his dedicated practice.

As part of his career, Muhammad has instructed as Lecturer Law at University of Dubai and the prestigious Faculty of Shariah and Law, International Islamic University, Islamabad. During his time in Dubai, he has lectured on HR and legal environment in UAE and developed course module on Legal Aspect of HR & Employment Law for the Center for Executive Development, University of Dubai.
His time in Singapore, Dubai, Pakistan and now in Oman helps him identify and understand his clients’ specific needs and the best commercial interest. Muhammad earned his clients’ trust and confidence by flexible and practical approach in his advice.

Syed Shahbaz Haider completed his early education from prestigious Army Burn Hall College, did his graduation from Government College, Lahore and attained his law degree from the Punjab University. He qualified the highly competitive Civil Services Competitive Exams (CSS) in 1993. Has diverse experience of 28 years in litigation as a civil / corporate lawyer which includes additional roles on managerial side.

Mr. Shah drafting of Contracts; including agreements on sale/purchase, agency, guarantees, lease outsourcing agreements, hypothecation, mortgage, pledge etc. Under Company Law, he has worked on Promoter’s Contract, Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, Notices, Underwriting Contracts, Mergers, arrangement of settlement etc.
In the area of litigation, he gained experience in contesting Suits for Recovery, Partition, Administration, Specific Performance, Defamation, Tenancy, Recovery of Bank Loans, Insurance, Partnership Disputes and Recovery Suits.

Mr. Shahbaz developed an active practice in the Banking sector and has been providing legal advice and undertaking transactional work for National Bank and Bank of Punjab. He has been involved in academics and research; being part of visiting faculty and teaching Telecommunication Law & Business Law at FAST NU a premier and prestigious university. Conducted research in developing courses in Cyber Law for the Corporate Sector. Shahbaz Haider’s experience in Pakistan, Dubai and Oman has enabled him to focus his managerial skills in understanding the needs and requirements of a diverse clientele and to provide adequate relief.

Sara Abdul Aziz graduated in law from the University of Cairo, Egypt in 1989. As part of her professional career, she has practiced as Public Prosecutor in Sudan. Sara specialists in corporate, commercial, civil, employment, litigation and arbitration matters. She is also a certified expert in arbitration from Sudan.

Sara has special interest in women and child rights. She is fluent in Arabic and has working communication skill in English.

Imad Eldin Ageed earned his L.L.B from the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux 4 in France. He also earned his L.L.M in International Law and a second Master degree in Political Science from the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux 4. He speaks Arabic, English and French fluently. His core areas of practice are International law, commercial law, corporate law, supply contracts, service contracts and labour law.

Imad Eldin worked as a legal assistant in France in “FNAC” company assisting the legal counselor in drafting contracts, agreements and memorandums. He then went to Sudan and passed the bar exam of the Republic of Sudan and worked as a legal associate at Japan Tobacco International Company Limited, a pioneer international company in the tobacco industry known for its brands such as Camel, Palmall, and Winston. He specializes in drafting supply contracts, service contracts, constitutive contracts of companies i.e. memorandum and articles of association, and advising on corporate matters, commercial law and labour law.

His legal practice in France, Sudan, and now Oman has earned him a wide experience and knowledge of the different legal systems and corporate practices. His capability to communicate with different clients from different countries and cultures around the world demonstrate the trust gained in his legal career.

Before joining the Firm, Mr. Huzaifah Bin Mohamed Parid Muhammad Janashal Law Office served at Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF) under Group Secretarial & Legal Division as Shariah Secretariat and Legal Officer for ten (10) years and was responsible for MIDF Group Legal matters as well as Shariah, Islamic Finance and Secretarial task. He is a freelance Arabic interpreter for Institute Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM) since 2009 and a member of Association of Shariah Adviser in Islamic Finance Malaysia (ASAS). Huzaifah graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with LLB (Honors) in 2008 and LLB_Shariah (Honors) in 2009.

Huzaifah was part of the coordinators for the Implementation of the BNM Shariah Governance Framework for Islamic Financial Institutions at MIDF Group and was also involved in various Shariah parameter set-up, product development projects and Islamic Securities/Sukuk issuance for the Group. He was the pioneer in the establishment of the Shariah Advisory Services to MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad by the MIDF Shariah Committee replacing Islamic Banking and Finance Institute of Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. as the Shariah Adviser since 1 November 2010. He was also the coordinator for Shariah matters on the issuance of Islamic Securities/Sukuk arranged and managed by MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad for its clients. He was part of the working team that transformed MIDF Group into a Shariah- compliant entity for its new businesses. He has experience and expertise in Islamic fund management services, product development, Islamic trainings, Shariah review process, Shariah advisory & consultancy and Secretarial.

Nabil graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Mansoura University, Egypt in Accounting. Later he did his Certified Management Accountant Training Course from American University in Cairo, Egypt. Nabil manages all accounts and finance related matters of the Firm.
Nabil also liaises with various government bodies in Oman for the day to day administrative assistance to our clients. His ability to fluently communicate in English and Arabic helps in maintaining good communication channel between the clients’ needs and the requirements of the public bodies.

Mrs. Manal Shafiq

Operations Management and Translation

Mrs. Manal Shafiq has a bachelor degree in English Literature from Damascus University and a diploma in International Business Administration from the American Academy for Science & Technology (AAST) / Majan HR, Muscat. She has over 15 years of experience in Oman and UAE in administration and operation management as well as Translation (Eng./Ar./Eng.). She has an ability to streamline operations and increase productivity within a team of assertive and enthusiastic professionals in our firm. She has a good communication skill that makes business goes easy, clear and practical. Mrs. Manal has an extensive knowledge of optimization process and she actively plays this role in the legal environment. Her good command in Arabic and English has added to her legal and general translation output more specialization professional ability, besides to her role in admin and business coordination which ensure a smoothly and efficiently running environment in different levels and aspects in our legal firm.
